S.L.A.M. (Sports Literacy Arts & Media) Summer Camp:

Youth involved in G.O.O.D. Kids S.L.A.M. Summer Camp will build character, develop lifelong healthy habits and enjoy the benefits of healthy relationships with other youth and adults. S.L.A.M. Summer Camp will provide supervision and safety for youth in the Columbia area. S.L.A.M. Summer Camp will combat unsupervised time that can leave youth vulnerable to risk of substance abuse, tobacco use and sexual experimentation. Children left at home often spend hours in sedentary activities, such as watching television. S.L.A.M Summer Camp can be an important community resource for development and protection for youth in the Columbia Area. Youth that will participate in S.L.A.M. Summer Camp will learn new skills, learn how to demonstrate those skills and learn how to work hard to achieve goals. These habits will transfer to academic preparation.

Our goal is for 95% of the kids participating in our S.L.A.M. Summer Camp is to foster positive changes in there attitude and behavior. Develop better interpersonal skills; develop a sense of belonging, responsibility, confidence, and creativity; Increase problem solving, learning skills, self-esteem, and life-skills through our sports, creative arts and literacy program.
